  • Augmented reality (AR) is * the live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by virtual computer-generated imagery. * [t]he use of transparent glasses on which a computer displays data so that the viewer can simultaneously view computer-generated and real world scenes.
  • Augmented reality is a live direct/indirect view of a physical area that is augmented via computer graphics. During the events of 2018, various cyborgs were equipped with augmented reality sensors in their eyes which allowed them to "see" their contacts when communicating with them via code, as well as zoom in.
  • The real power of the mobiGlas comes from its augmented reality interface. Since AR requires more exploration and explanation we decided to share more information on that mode. The system is quite simple in theory: 3D Interface objects are placed directly in what you see instead of flat on your screen.
  • Sophisticated augmented reality is technologies already exist for audio. Digital hearing aids can be configured to include or exclude different kinds orof sounds, like refrigerator and fan noise, and different modes of hearing can be chosen. Cell phones can be used in conjunction with hearing aids (and inductive loopsets), allowing people to talk on a cell phone while blocking all background noises sounds lololololol (Bluetooth in hearing aids means they don't need to wear headphones or use a headset). [1] This can be combined with subvocal speech [2] to essentially make practical telepathy possible.
  • Augmented reality (AR) is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time.
  • Augmented reality is one of the killer-applications of wearable computer. We can see and hear this reality with our senses. Augmenting means empowering, so augmented reality means empowering our senses to have an another view of reality. Basically Augmented reality means a combination of computer generated objects and reality, and to see this combination we need our own senses and the aid of a computer.
  • When enabled, the player will see a yellow outline around all interactive objects in the world, such as items, weapons, and doors, allowing the player to easily find what they are looking for without fumbling through useless props and items. They will also see a marker indicating the location of their goal, and the distance in meters. Following a negative fan response, Eidos Montreal chose to make the feature entirely optional, though playing on the "Tell me a Story" and "Give Me a Challenge" difficulties will automatically enable it (It can still be turned off if the player desires).

  • Augmented reality (AR) is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time. At present, most AR research is concerned with the use of live video imagery which is digitally processed and "augmented" by the addition of computer-generated graphics. Advanced research includes the use of motion-tracking data, fiducial markers recognition using machine vision, and the construction of controlled environments containing any number of sensors and actuators.

Augmenting means empowering, so augmented reality means empowering our senses to have an another view of reality. Basically Augmented reality means a combination of computer generated objects and reality, and to see this combination we need our own senses and the aid of a computer. For example someone wearing a hmd could model a house to it's place before building it, or he could leave secret notes on the middle of the street for someone to read. One could also play some fps-games on real environments ARQuake. Augmented reality could move computing closer to our lives. One cool use I can see is that you could leave your important notes hanging in air at your office and nobody else could see them. They could contain passwords and other confidential data. --OjM 02:00, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

The player's HUD, including their health count, energy count, minimap, and weapon info will all be visible regardless of whether the player has enabled Augmented Reality.
