abstract
  • Boyor Ignatin, known as Boyor I and Boyor the Righteous, was an Orion man of the 11th century. He was a member of the Ignatin family, President of the Botchok Planetary Congress and then Emperor of the Orion Empire. During the collapse of Orion society during the Reverse, the Botchok Planetary Congress (BPC) was unable to restore order or political power over the Orion Colonies with either strict laws or military threats, and its authority weakened. Eventually, desiring more power and extreme force to end the Colonies' disputes, a number of powerful families on Botchok revolted, and chose BPC President Boyor Ignatin to lead them. The revolt was successful, and on March 21st, 1003 CE (reference stardate −10/0303.21), with the families' backing, Boyor seized dictatorial powers, imprisoned his opponents, and reorganized Orion government. Later that year, he was crowned Emperor Boyor I, called Boyor the Righteous, becoming the first of the Three Emperors. He then issued the Demand for Unity to all seceded and rebellious Colonies. When that didn't work, he sent the Orion Space Navy to bring these worlds back under control, triggering the Fringe Wars, a total failure that only hastened the collapse of Orion society. Boyor was finally assassinated in October 1062 CE (stardate −10/6210). Clan warfare and rioting broke out, and spread to destroy the entirety of his family line. He was succeeded by Renat the Old, though succession conflicts continued for sixteen more years. (FASA RPG - The Orions module: Book of Common Knowledge)
