There, now you know exactly what this book is like. Hartnell becomes a frienemy to some popular historical figure? Check. Vicki drezzez as a boy? Check. Barbara gets kidnapped and imprisoned? Check. Ian gets to be all badass? Check. It's brutal as fuck but also really witty? Check. To be more specific, its story feels like a fusion of The Romans and The Crusade, but set during the Gunpowder plot. Of course, just because it's not the most original thing in the world doesn't mean its bad; in fact, it's GOAT af. But what more would you expect from old Gary, eh? (No, not that one.) Turns out Guy Fawkes was dead af, and someone else took his place when attempting to blow up parliament. Oh, and James I tried raping Vicki because he thought she was a boy. Sadly this book is certified 100% anti-canon, as its plot is contradicted by the fifth and final installment of The Adventure Games (aka the only non-TV thing that the BBC have bothered to confirm as canon). Of course, you could always ignore that and count it as canon anyways, especially as The Adventure Games are shit.
