The club quickly moved up the ranks in German hockey in their first decade, winning league titles in both the Bayernliga. At the Year 2003 the Club changed the name to Eishockeyclub München. After the Promotion 2003 from the Bavarianleague to the Upperleague, the senior team was outsourced from the Club 2004 into the EHC München Spielbetriebs GmbH. The Team promotes into the 2nd Bundesliga, where it won the championship 2010. By July 2010, EHC München had earned promotion into Germany's top league, the DEL. Furthermore, the club managed to reach the playoffs even in the first season in the DEL. After financial problems the team gets 2012 a new sponsor and was renamed to EHC Red Bull München. From the 1. May 2013 the Company and the team is owned by the Red Bull Company and the Company was renamed into EHC Red Bull München GmbH
