| abstract | - Wonga Vurb was a male Faust information broker from Socorro. Though he started his criminal career as a bounty hunter and gun-for-hire, he proved cleverer than many of his fellows and found a long-term position with Black Sun. He worked for the syndicate for several years, gaining contacts and discovering that knowledge could be a far more dangerous weapon than any blaster. Though he grew to prefer manipulating and passing information as a spy to direct combat, he worked hard to retain his fighting and shooting skills; it kept his contacts from treating him with the disdain or even violence other spies often received. Wonga eventually parted ways with Black Sun on (relatively) good terms, setting himself up as an information broker on Coruscant. To keep his former employers peaceable, he often passed them useful information, and made a point of befriending police in the galactic capital so they would leave his operation alone in return for tips on low- to mid-level criminal activities. Some Hutts even allowed him to set up agents they might otherwise have executed to bolster his credit with the authorities, in exchange for being in his regular information loop. Wonga arranged a variety of meeting places to keep his activities off the sensors, but had a fondness for using the Crimson Countess to screen potential clients. Among Wonga's more innocuous contacts was the Balosar Synix Fer'faloon, who worked as an antiquities broker but also sold some proscribed merchandise or stolen artifacts. He also did a small but lucrative business in Force-related items, such as Jedi databooks or stolen lightsabers. In 154 ABY, Wonga agreed to act as an intermediary for Synix as the Balosar attempted the sale of two highly illegal Sith holocrons. The process became more trouble than it was worth. Wonga's meeting at the Crimson Countess with the Besadii agent Rahli went smoothly, and Wonga agreed to pass Rahli on in exchange for his fee and contacts with the Besadii. But one of his people provided information to Eche Parunam without Wonga's approval, and Evangelia Maxico and her Mecrosa Order assassins found Wonga at his home. While the Faust disposed of the loose-lipped agent and managed to work out a deal with the Mecrosa, taking a fee and the promise of intelligence from House Mecetti's intelligence network in exchange for the contacts, he was shaken by the encounter. Not disposed to be friendly at that point, he received Breek Zagrev coolly, unimpressed with her offer of credits and seeking more from her to ensure she was a legitimate buyer. He thought she was planning to attack him when she offered his life as a sweetener, but saw the error when Breek saved him from attack by Ioana Cur'tan, a Mistryl Shadow Guard who had been posing as a serving girl on Rahli's orders. After Breek killed Ioana, Vurb agreed to provide her the contact information in exchange for a fee, even overlooking Kyriel Windrunner's killing of one of his Barabel guards who had attacked her. With Breek and Kyriel gone, however, Wonga sank undercover until the entire business had blown over.
