| HistoryText | - Chrome was originally named Allen Marc. He was a good student, with a fascination for alchemy. He always studied hard, and was popular at school. He married his childhood sweetheart, and took her name, becoming Allen Marc Yuric, and life was good for a time. But soon, his mutant powers developed , and he accidentally turned her engagement ring into paper. She thought he pawned it for money, and she kicked him out. After their divorce, he kept her name, as it had a nice ring to it. But she left him penniless, and he was forced to move in with an unknown friend.
Soon he was approached by a man calling himself Cerebro. He revealed that the incident with his ring was in fact a mutation. He had the power to alter the composition of substances around him, connecting him to the alchemy studies he once loved. Cerebro informed Allen that his mutants were missing, and that he could find new purpose. He asked him to join him in protecting the mutant race, and Allen agreed, taking the alias Chrome. He was an asset on Krakoa, turning the monsters into metal which Polaris then used against the living. He devoted himself to the X-Men's cause after everyone was safe .
