He was part of a devastating line with Patrick Fischer and Gian-Marco Crameri not only in Lugano, but also on the Swiss National Team, for which Jenni played 53 games in international tournaments for the senior squad and 25 with the junior.

In 2000, Jenni leaves his homeland, heading for Sweden and the Elitserien, having been hired by Färjestads BK. The signing paid off for Färjestad; Jenni was the playoffs' top scorer in 2001, and the next year, he helped them become Swedish Champions. Jenni left the club in 2005, returning to Switzerland with Kloten.
