Already not happy that his first child was a girl, Morticia's father only became angry after it was discovered that her mother could not produce anymore children. He then promptly annulled the marriage and remarried. Morticia began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1962 and was Sorted into Slytherin. While at school, Morticia was roommates with Bellatrix Black, Dolores Burke and Pamela Shafiq. Although not aiming to be a Death Eater, nor wanting to embrace dark magic for that matter, Morticia played nice with the future-Death-Eater crowd as to stay on top of Slytherin's elitist hierarchy. Morticia was noted to be extremely well-versed in Transfiguration, although turned down the offer to return to the school and take over for Minerva McGonagall. After graduating from Hogwarts, Morticia married fairly late; a typical pure-blood woman married within a few years of graduating school, and married Gurganus Carrow. Morticia and her husband adopted Draco Malfoy after his parents were sent to Azkaban, and a few years later, she gave birth to twins Flora and Hestia Carrow after much difficulty. Gurganus unfortunately passed away in 1987 from a heart condition, and Morticia mourned the loss of her husband, vowing to never even consider remarrying. Morticia continued raising her children and living off her husband's wealth.
