Luckily, Kenney found much better results during the 1970 season, when he ran his final eleven career races and finished 46th in points. It was definitely a mixed bag for Kenney, seeing as he only was running at the end of just three of his eleven starts that year. But despite that, Kenney managed to earn six top-twenty efforts, bested by a career-high trio of 12th place runs at Hampton (his first career race running at the finish in his fifth start), Nashville, and Raleigh, the latter being his final career race.
