| abstract | - The Komo Val-class (aka the Ever Victorious-class, alphanumeric designation L24-class) was a Klingon class XIII battleship starship in Imperial Defense Force service in the 23rd century, becoming active on reference stardate 2/2204. The first examples of the class were produced at the Taamar shipyard, expanding to a second facility at Gnuu Re'. By stardate 2/2306 two L24s had been built; subsequent production numbers are not available. Launched shortly prior to the USS Excelsior (and in full production long before other Excelsior-class ships appeared), the L24s briefly shifted the balance of power along border regions in favor of the Klingons. They featured the most powerful engines, weaponry, and shielding then in the Klingon inventory. The ships carry an assault force of 480 troops and eight light support vehicles. The entire force can be transported to the ground in less than seven minutes. The class name komo val comes from the literal translation from Klingonaase, "always in victory". (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual) In the SFC/FASA timeline, reference stardate 2/2204 is two months prior to the events of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, so the equivalent date in the standard timeline would be 2285.
