  • César Eduardo Salazar Hernández (often referred to as César Salazar) is a Mexican entrepreneur, born in 1983 in Estado de México, who currently lives and works between Mountain View and Mexico City. He currently works full time in Mexican VC - the first seed discovery fund from Silicon Valley that backs Mexican Internet startups. Salazar founded his first company at 17 and has been actively involved in the grwoth of the Mexican tech and entrepreneurial community ever since. He was a founding member of Super Happy Dev House, an event devoted to bringing programmers and people interested in technology together to create things, and Hackspedition, a trip designed to bring communities of programmers in different parts of the world together in orther to promote collaboration and a key participant in bringing Startup Weekend to Mexico. Before becoming a VC he Cofounded and was the UX lead of 42 claps; a privately held company that offers fundraising solutions for nonprofit organizations, before that he directed innovation at CIMA CI, where he developped Tikkia a network of technology professionals, this project he helped design and take to the alpha version. Salazar is best known for his work as a General Partner in Mexican VC and as a mentor to startups, over the last few years he has been approached by hundreds of companies wanting to be a part of Mexican VC's disrruption program. The success of the fund has been notorious, the first generation gave way to the entrance of two of their alumni to 500 Startups acceleration program. Most of the founders are still working full time on their projects in great part thanks to Salazar's mentoring, vision and networking. The second generation has been selected and will be announced soon.
