  • A breakdown occurs with most rides in RollerCoaster Tycoon, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. Breakdowns have a number of causes and a number of effects depending on the ride type and other factors. Breakdowns generally increase in frequency as the ride ages and as the reliability of the ride decreases. Adjusting the inspection time for Mechanics can help delay this. Certain rides never break down, thus, never require inspection. A complete list of rides that never break down can be found here.
  • __FORCETOC__ "Breakdown" is the tenth episode of Warehouse 13 Season 1 that aired on Syfy on September 8, 2009.
  • Breakdown is an American 2013 Horror Slasher Film Starring Nico Tortorella, Danielle Panabaker, Julianna Guill, Ryan Merriman, Josh Hutcherson, Ashley Greene, Meagan Tandy, Cassie Ventura, Jean Luc-Bilodeau, Katrina Bowden, Steven R. • Breakdown is an ability, similar to the Sacred Gear's Balance Breaker, yet, in the same time, it has a chant, making it similar to the Sacred Gear's Juggernaut Drive. Anymore info isn't given.
  • When the perk triggers, it prompts the message: Your breakdown perk causes you to instantly disassemble the item. Utilising breakdown allows the full use of a beast of burden, particularly with 1-bar items such as daggers. It is a significant time saver when the produced item is planned to be dismantled anyway - but be aware that it also dismantle high value items (e.g. malevolent armour) without warning.
  • Breakdown is a campaign Eastern Front level in Call of Duty: Finest Hour. When the engine of the tank that Nikolai Badanov and his men were riding on just broke down, they move their tank to a safe place where they can make repairs before the German infantry arrives. However if they don't hold the Germans back until the tank is repaired, they won't be able to escape in time.
  • Breakdown is a multiplayer map in Turok: Rage Wars. Breakdown is a medium-sized level that resembles a castle interior. The map has a variety of catwalks, some open areas with platforming opportunities, and a lake of lava.
  • The breakdown is a special, normally one-off animation that occurs when a witness, usually the true culprit of a case, realizes that they have been defeated. Alternatively, when a witness is faced with a revelation they're not ready to properly deal with. Such animations are normally quite long and over-the-top (possibly for comical effect), especially in the later games. Other breakdowns are present for non-culprits, for example April May. Breakdowns are not to be confused with the "damage" animations which occur when a witness is briefly shocked, but soon recovers. "Damage" animations, unlike breakdowns, tend to occur frequently and often in quick succession, such as Trilo Quist's limbs exploding and firing across the courtroom, which occurs multiple times during his cross-examination.

  • It was raining when it happened, on that fateful night. I was driving with my wife and son, for a while now. We were on our way to visit my wife’s mother in the hospital. Our journey had taken us down a number of country roads, many of which were flooded. After heading down some obscure lane our car became bogged down in the thick muddy ground. My wife started to panic, as usual – she was always like this in times of crisis. I tried to calm my wife and son down, and reassured them that all would be well. I got out of the car to see badly trapped it was. It was bad, and the car was sinking, slowly. I got back into my car to escape the rain. I tried using my phone to call for help, but there was no signal.

He is also Bulkhead's rival due to an unknown event. In the episode Operation Breakdown he was captured by a human terrorist organization called M.E.C.H. Wishing to learn from his parts they began to dismantle him starting with his eye. Before they could do anything else Bulkhead came to rescue him. Starcream arrived later on and ordered him to attack Bulkhead. He was hesitant but eventually attacked.

  • When BREAKDOWN is in his car mode, he thinks everyone else is staring at him. Not just living creatures such as other Transformers and humans, but cars, stoplights....*anything*. The root of this is that he fears someone will see him for what he really is; despite his Earthly disguise, he is constantly aware that underneath the hood he is different, and the thought haunts him. This extreme self-consciousness often affects his performance as a scout, since his duty requires him to go into many tension-producing situations. The rumbling vibration of Breakdown's engine in vehicle mode can cause mechanical failures in other vehicles. At full speed he can travel at up to 220 mph. In robot mode he carries a concussion cannon, which gets the same results as his engine noise, but with better accuracy. He also combines with fellow Stunticons to form Menasor.

Knockout pretty much made all the decisions, and they agreed. Veartax left to talk to the others. Breakdown and Knockout then were sent to Stelt to trash the place, and they did. But then the arrival of Tearox and Xarana sent them into a fight. Breakdown momentarily was defeated by Tearox, who was going to attack Knockout. But he recovered, and tackled to Toa of Acid. They went rolling down a hill, close to a water tower. He almost had Tearox beat, but then Xarana lept from the top of the water tower and delivered a spinning kick that could shatter bones into Breakdown's head. He then fell over, unconscious. Then Knockout snuck up behind Xarana and electrocuted her into unconsciousness with his electric prod. He was defeated by Tearox. Then the two teleported away. During the siege of Ga-Metru, Breakdown was stationed on Nokorah's ship, but didn't see any action. He then retreated with the rest of the Makuta. Then they were supreme conquerors of the universe, until Veartax ordered them to teleport to a planet on the far reaches of space. Breakdown hopes it is full of things to crush.

Sweep and Scampi also want to run a breakdown service, but Matthew doesn't think they could run a real break down service. Matthew gives Sooty a teapot to mend and Sweep and Scampi a mechanical toy rabbit to mend, while he has a tea break, but not everything goes to according to plan. Matthews happy because Sooty's mended his teapot, but he's glued the lid down so he can't use it and he's glued down the teapot to the desk, so Matthew asks how he'll move it and Sooty breaks it up again. Sweep and Little Cousin Scampi tell Matthew that they've got the mechanical toy rabbit working again, but show him a real rabbit instead. Matthew goes for a ride on his bike around Manchester, but ends up breaking down and calls his local breakdown service, but they'll take over 2 hours, so he calls Sooty instead. Then Sooty's camper van breaks down, so Matthew calls Sweep and Little Cousin Scampi to come and help them, but they forget to bring the tools to mend the van so they all end up going home with the professional breakdown service. Soo tells Matthew that shes fixed his pressure cooker and made him his favourite tea rice pudding, but it ends up going everywhere.

Hercules spluttered, and a few puffs of smoke blew out of his funnel. He spluttered again. "What happened?" he muttered. "You were sleeping," Sunshine announced. "That's very unlikely of you!" Warrior added, not knowing how rude that comment was. Everyone glared at him. "At any rate," I continued. "This morning we will be working on the coaling contract! We will be taking the lumps of coal from the coaling plant to various spots in the port. Start your engines! It's going to be a hot day! And remember, don't let the hot coals go to your mind!" Hercules groaned, startling the other tugs. At the coaling plant, the tugs were given loads that weighed the exact amount they could carry. Hercules, who was the strongest, got the largest load. As the tugs left, a very black puff of smoke flew out of his funnel and into the air. Sunshine, who was behind Hercules, coughed when the smoke reached his face. "Gag!" he yelled. "Sorry," said Hercules. The tugs didn't know that Zorran, Zip and Zug were watching the sputtering Hercules with interest. "Hercules is the strongest of them all," Zorran told the two Z-Stacks. "If we find a way to make him overworked, he'll break down, and we'll have some fun!" "Oh, I love games!" said Zug. The response was a bank on the hull. "Shut up!" Zorran snapped. "You, Hercules, are overworked!" Zorran cackled to Hercules. Hercules could tell that the Z-Stacks were up to something. "I'm not letting your comments get to me, my dears," he said patiently. "Oh, but you are all smoky!" said Zug. "You oughta go to the scrap pile!" Again, Hercules ignored them. "You look like a Z-Stack!" yelled Zip. Hercules ignored them, but that comment did get to him. The Z-Stacks knew that badgering him with words wasn't going to make Hercules crack. So the Z-Stacks tried to creep up on him. But as they got close to tailgating, there was a mighty puff of smoke, followed by a loud pop. The smoke blew in the Z-Stacks faces and they fell back, coughing. Hercules stopped in his tracks. Ten Cents looked back. "Hercules?" he asked. Hercules spluttered. "I think that I may have to go to Lucky's," he groaned. Big Mac and Warrior came forward and towed him to Lucky's. "Overheating boiler," said the Red Cross."Has he been travelling anywhere hot?"she asked Captain Star."Well,he has been traveling around the equator a lot lately."said the captain "That must be it.Well, then,A few days rest Up River should be fine. Your class of tugboat," she continued. "Tends to overheat if they stay in hot climates too long." Hercules coughed, and a thick cloud of smoke flew out of his funnel and into the face of a nearby plane being repaired. "Hey! Watch your engine!" it said."I've seen nothing like this in my military service, not even that time in the Pacific when Kearsarge became a..." "Sorry"coughed Hercules."There's something wrong with me." "I understand."said the plane."Hey,did you work ever work near Normandy in 1944? • Breakdown is a 1997 thriller, written and directed by Jonathan Mostow. The main stars were Kurt Russell and Kathleen Quinlan. Newlywed couple Jeff and Amy Taylor are driving their way across the United States to their new home: California. The first sign of trouble is barely-avoided collision with a truck. Followed by meeting its rather irritable driver Earl (M. C. Gainey) at the nearest gas station. Not long after leaving said station, their vehicle breaks down in the middle of the desert. Warren "Red" Barr (J. T. Walsh), a trucker, stops by, offering to transport Amy to the closest diner. From where she can hopefully call for proper help. Jeff soon finds out that their vehicle had a very specific problem, disconnected wires. Someone had arranged their "accident". Locating Red doesn't provide much help. He claims not remembering either Taylor. Local simpleton Billy (Jack Noseworthy) tells a contradictory tale. Jeff soon finds out Amy is abducted and more than one person blackmails him for money. The film was a modest hit, earning $50,159,144 in the United States market but fairing poorly everywhere else. It was the 36th most profitable film of its year. The critics have been largely favorable to it due to solid performances by the actors, fast-paced action, and unusually plausible script. Its Rotten Tomatoes rating is 78 % fresh. * Action Survivor: Jeff. * The Alleged Car: One Chase Scene has Jeff and Amy trying to escape the gang members in an old, rusty utility pickup truck. It doesn't take the bad guys long to run them down. * Car Meets House: While pursuing Jeff and Amy at one point, Red crashes his 18-wheeler straight through the middle of a trailer home. * Complete Monster: Earl, in M.C. Gainey's own words "There's nothing redeemable about that guy" * Distressed Damsel: Amy for most of the film. * Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Red has a wife and son at home, neither of whom know anything about his leisure-time activities. * Hoist by His Own Petard: Red is crushed by his own truck. Arranged by Amy, the moment her hands were free. * Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: To get Earl to tell him where Amy is, Jeff ties Earl's neck to the headrest of the passenger seat of a car with duct tape, then repeatedly accelerates the car and slams on the brakes. * Obfuscating Stupidity: Billy pretends to have an intellectual disability the first time Jeff meets him. * Oh Crap: In Red's kitchen, Jeff thinks he's got Red, Billy, and Al right where he wants them...then Red's son comes in pointing a shotgun at him. * Outside Ride: Jeff finds his way to Red's farm by hitching a ride on the outside of Red's 18-wheeler. * Plot-Driven Breakdown: Averted. Jeff and Amy's car breaking down sets the plot in motion, but we find out later that the breakdown happened for a very good reason: the motor was sabotaged. * Protected by a Child: When Jeff walks into the farmhouse kitchen with a pistol and orders Red to hand over the key to the barn, Red's young son, Deke, grabs a loaded shotgun and tries to protect his parents. * "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Earl gives one to Jeff, telling him all the ways he made himself stand out as an easy mark for the gang. * The Savage South: Jeff and Amy are from Massachusetts, and the movie takes place in Arizona. Part of the reason given by the gang for why they were chosen as targets is because they were outsiders, and therefore easier targets. * Shut UP, Hannibal: Near the end of the movie, the Big Bad starts to threaten the hero and his wife (the latter having just been rescued from the chest freezer in which the villains left her to suffocate) only to be silenced nine words in when a severely stressed-out Kurt Russell screams "You FUCK!!!" and kicks him in the face. * They Look Just Like Everyone Else: By the time Jeff finds out that the "friendly" trucker and the "helpful" youth with the supposed mental disability are both in league with the bad-tempered stranger and all three have it in for him and Amy, he's gotten so paranoid that he can't bring himself to trust anybody who lives in or around the town, not knowing who else might be in on the scheme.

My wife began fretting about the rain again. I got rather angry at her, and her face began to turn incredibly red. I looked away from her to avoid me losing my temper. As I did, I saw a dim light through the imposing cornfield. I told my wife that I would nip over to the house to seek help, and hopefully, find a working phone. I cautiously opened the car door, cringing at the horrible feeling of water entering my trainers. I left my family in the car, as I walked through the fields to the house, I noticed that the farmhouse loomed over me like a leering school headmaster. I went up to the ancient wooden front door and knocked hard on its surface. There was no reply. Thinking that they may have been asleep, I tried again. After a few moments I heard movements from within. Within a few agonizing minutes I heard someone fumbling with the keys on the other side of the door. When the door opened I was greeted with the sight of an emaciated looking man. He had pallid, grimy looking skin and dark bags beneath his eyes. "Can I help you?" the man croaked. I explained my situation to him. The man paused for a moment. He turned his back to me and called for his wife. After a few moments I could hear the sound of someone hobbling down the stairs. His wife appeared, with curtains of matted tangled hair vomiting from her scalp. She looked as equally ill as her husband. They were like a married incubus and succubus. “What do ya want?” the woman moaned. “I need to phone for some assistance. My car is stuck in the mud, and I need help getting it out.” “The phones are down! If you fink that you will get some signal instantly, then you are wrong. Come on in. We can’t let you stay out there all alone in the night! Wait in here with us!” “Oh thank you so much, I’ve just got to tell my wife and child,” I replied anxiously. “Go on. We’ll be waiting for you,” the haggard old woman said. As I wandered back into the cold dark cornfield, I heard the sound of something moving in the corn with me. I assumed it was the wind, so I put it from my mind. That was until, I felt something past me from behind. I whipped around hastily in time to see something rushing off through the corn. I figured it was someone from the house, so I called after them, but received no reply. I continued moving through the field. As I was nearly back at my car, I heard laughter, a child’s laughter. I whipped around again, startled. I saw what looked like the silhouette of a young boy moving through the corn. I continued on my way back to the car. When I arrived I realised something was wrong. Very wrong. I got into the car. My wife was slumped against the window, sleeping. I attempted to wake her, but she did not stir. I looked in the back of the car to see if my son was awake, but he wasn't there. Panicking I began to try and wake my wife again. Still no response. I shook her violently, yelling her name. Her head slumped forwards and detached itself from her lifeless body. I recoiled in horror. Her blood was on her seat and on the inside of her door. I felt like I was going to throw up all over the car. I held my breath to try and stop the increasing feeling of nausea. I flung the car door open, and as I clambered out, I lost my footing and fell into the freezing mud before me. That’s when I heard it. The laughter. I twisted my neck around and looked back towards the field. To my horror, I saw my son standing there. His skin had turned to the emaciated quality of the farmer and his wife. I didn't know what to do. Grieve about my wife, or feel some relief that my son had turned up. As I looked at him, he grinned at me. His wide smile made my blood run cold. To my horror, he pulled out a knife from his pocket. He lifted his shirt up slowly, and he began to move the knife ever so closer towards the top of his chest. He plunged it between his ribs, and he sliced down in one, fluid, motion. Blood tricked out from the wound. He dropped the knife, and pulled the flaps of skin wide open. A long, pale snake-like thing was coiled around his spine and organs. As I watched I felt my eyes burning. I tried to hold back my tears but to no avail. My son laughed and the creature inside him began tightening its grip on his organs, squeezing the life out of him with every contraction. Finally his organs began leaking fluids and started bursting one by one. His ribs also began to crack and then finally his spine broke. His body snapped forwards and hung limply, his feet supported only by the mud. I heard a horrible gurgling, hissing noise emanating from the creature within him. I saw the old farmer and his wife ambling through the corn. They came to a halt on either side of my son’s body. The couple knelt down behind my lifeless son. They pulled out a needle and a thread, and they began to stitch his body back together once more. I remained rooted to the spot. Once they finished, the three of them rose up and looked directly into my eyes. The same twisted rictus grin contorted itself upon their faces. They began moving towards me. They have me here. Help me.

  • Breakdown is a Decepticon brute in Transformers: Prime. His weapons include two built in hammers. He was voiced by Adam Baldwin. He is best friends and partners with Knock Out. His eye could not be replaced apparently and he was given a patch to cover his socket. This would force him to become the subject of humiliation and permanent defeat. In the episode, Crossfire, Breakdown was sent by Megatron with Dreadwing on a mission to terminate Airachnid. Despite admitting earlier that he was "intrigued" by her, Breakdown was the first to attack Airachnid. She managed to lure him into a trap where she sliced into his body and decapitated him. This presumably killed him and his remains were captured by M.E.C.H. Afterwards in "The Human Factor", M.E.C.H used his body to create a shell and life support system for their mortally injured leader, Silas. Silas tried to convince Megatron to allow him to take Breakdown's place "at the table", to which Megatron tested his usefulness by sending him to go kill the Autobots' human child allies, starting with Raf who was a critical intellectual ally to the Autobots. Once Silas failed after Bulkhead and Smokescreen intervened, Megatron put Silas on a table, but clarified it was Knockout's dissection table to be precise. Knockout and Starscream then tortured Silas out of both revenge and to discover further knowledge of Cybertronian biology until they used a mix of Dark and synthetic energon to bring Breakdown back to life as a zombie.
