Constructed at the Arcturus Shipyard in 2187 CE, the Gibraltar is one of the newest frigates in Seventh Fleet. The Gibraltar was first used in action during the Ismar Purge in which it led flotillas of fighters and bombers. The Gibraltar was a major factor in the Alliance's victory due to its action in leading bombing raids against land targets and ambushes against hostile fleets. After the campaign in the , the Gibraltar was used in several scouting missions. The Gibraltar became famous after its mission in the Styx Oblivion, a massive region of space which has become a ship graveyard. What was once a scouting mission became a great battle as the Gibraltar waged a single ship offensive against a fleet of 20 cruisers, there to scout for territory and resources. The Gibraltar would receive heavy damage in this encounter, but thanks to the ship's superior technology, leadership, and crew would prevail against its enemies and open a gateway to a batarian hideout only a few light-years away. Since being commissioned, the Gibraltar has been helmed by Commander Ezra Odom.
