The officers of the College, known as heralds, specialize in genealogical (family trees) and heraldic work (coats of arms) for their respective clients. The College is under the control of the King of England and by that extension, the Regent. Below the Regent are four kings of arms (Garter, Windsor, Norroy, and Clarenceux), heralds, and pursuivants (junior heralds). The Ulster King of Arms of Ireland and the Lord Lyon, King of Arms of Scotland also have access to the College as ambassadors to share knowledge, advice, and heraldic work.
