Hudson, Metcalfe and Porter shared the 1985 Emmy Award for Outstanding Film Sound Mixing for a Limited Series or a Special for the mini-series Space. They also received Emmy nominations for the TV movie Wallenberg: A Hero's Story and an episode of Moonlighting. From the late 1980s through 1994, Hudson worked with Mel Metcalfe and Terry Porter at Buena Vista Sound. As such, they took part in the sound mixing in a number of films distributed by Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures or Walt Disney Pictures, including Good Morning, Vietnam, When Harry Met Sally..., Pretty Woman (starring Jason Alexander), Arachnophobia, What About Bob?, Father of the Bride, Sister Act (starring Whoopi Goldberg), Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, and The Santa Clause.
