He was a part-time player for the Rangers until 1949 when he became a regular for four seasons. A career highlight was leading the NHL playoffs in assists with 6 in 1950 as the Rangers lost the 1950 Stanley Cup Finals. After leaving the Rangers in 1953 he played five more seasons in the American Hockey League and retired in 1958. In his NHL career, Slowinski scored 58 goals and 74 assists in 291 games.
