| abstract | - The Hangoroshi (半殺し, Half-Killed) is a unique technique developed by Shuji as an extension over his own mastery of the Yin-Yang Release. It is a power only known to him because of his origins as a unique, almost divine entity of artificial origin. Furthermore, due to the manner of this technique's workings, it is considered the original clone technique, superior to even the likes of the Shadow Clone Technique. The main premise of the technique is the equal splitting of one's very chakra essence into two components: as most of the modern world knows, ones chakra is split into both Yin and Yang; both in harmony are required for complete survival. However, because of Shuji's status as a being forged by chakra completely, he is able to split his essence into both components and still retain survival. This splitting takes only a small period of time, and is done so through the activation of the seals placed around his body, which consequently replicate the process known as mitosis that commonly happens in the body; albeit actually splitting the "genetic material" into two separate entities. The entities themselves appear identical to one another aside from their clothing, which is representative of the chakra source that constitutes their being. While the Yin chakra holds black clothing, similar to those that Shuji normally wears; the Yang portion of the chakra holds white clothing, inverse to Shuji's standard clothing. This technique is almost impossible to discern through by conventional individuals, as the Chakra Sensing Technique can only sense chakra when both Yin and Yang are present within it, though Naruto Uzumaki appears to be an exception to this. As well as this, each clone holds a unique technique relevant to their respective release, which allows them to combat effectively, even while separated.
