  • Urian Poisonblade was dark elf warrior selected to be the Witch King's champion. It is believed that he was bred for battle by Malekith himself to be an instrument of war. • Urian Poisonblade was dark elf warrior selected to be the Witch King's champion. It is believed that he was bred for battle by Malekith himself to be an instrument of war. He was almost unstoppable in combat, learned in 10,000 ways to kill and 10,000 ways to maim, he was trained by some of Naggaroth's greatest warmasters (none of whom Urian left alive). For all his skills he was incredibly arrogant and once claimed that he could slay the War God Khaine himself. Urian met his match at the battle of Finuval Plain during the third Druchii invasion of Ulthuan. After easily cutting down Arhalien of Yvresse and Korhian Ironglaive of the White Lions in single combat he was finally challenged by Prince Tyrion. For an hour the two elven heroes duelled, so equal in skill yet so alien in temperament. As one would gain the upper hand the other would turn the odds. The duel ended when Tyrion slipped and fell, Poisonblade proud and aloft rushed in to land the killing blow, and in so doing, Tyrion made a thrust at the champion's heart. His final words were: "The simplest of tricks. You killed me with the simplest of tricks...". It is later revealed that Tyrion's stumble was not feigned and that Poisonblade's strike did, in fact, land true. Tyrion was saved by the intervention of Morathi whose sorceries cheated Poisonblade from his victory. The widowed Sorceress saw the image of her husband in the young Tyrion and, in her panic, inadvertently cost the Dark Elves their victory on Finuval Plain.
