  • Nicholas DuPraeve (no codename known) was a member of the Masterminds, and the instigator of a plot to take over Whateley Academy and make everyone his mind-slave. The Spy Kids and Sahar busted up the plot and sent his two henchmen, Nightfox and Latchkey to Juvenile Incarceration. DuPraeve himself fled. The incident occurred during the 2005-2006 school year, and left that year's Masterminds with only Sophomores and Freshmen. DuPraeve had an antagonistic relationship with the Wild Pack, apparently frequently occupying them with the need to thwart his plots. DuPraeve had a silent rivalry with Freya during the four years they were in Whateley, due to both being powerful mind manipulators yet each one immune to the other's powers. Freya thrived in the limelight of her Alphas domination, while DuPraeve saw himself as a shadow manipulator and therefore preferred working through the Masterminds. Eventually Freya decided to rid herself of the competition by leaking the information about DuPraeve's plans to the Spy Kids. Nevertheless, after Freya herself had her plans thwarted by She-Beast, Loophole and Lady Astarte one year later, she sought an alliance with her former rival.
