  • Keziah Mason is a witch who studied the secrets of inter-dimensional travel.
  • Keziah Mason was a witch in the late 17th century. She was an old woman, during the Salem Witch trials and was arrested for witchcraft in 1692. The accusation was based on the suspicious behavior of Mason and the rumor that she was able to look into other worlds. During her trial, she did confess to Judge John Hathorne, she had signed her name in the Black Book of Azathoth and had a secret name, Nahab. She was however never executed like so many other witches, as she disappeared mysteriously. Before her arrest, she had discovered the secrets of interdimensional travel... She found the perfect portal for interdimensional travel in a chamber of a boarding house.
  • Miskatonic University student Walter Gillman moves into the eponymous Witch House where he discovers its past. Before, it had harbored notorious witch Keziah Mason during the Salem Witch Trials. She spoke of "lines and curves leading to other spaces beyond", a quality that connects with Gillman's theory that the alien geometries of his room can lead to other worlds. Mason escaped from her cell but then several of the past residents of the Witch House have died prematurely. She is also accompanied by a rat familiar named Brown Jenkin.

She was however never executed like so many other witches, as she disappeared mysteriously. Before her arrest, she had discovered the secrets of interdimensional travel... She found the perfect portal for interdimensional travel in a chamber of a boarding house. For the next 300 years, she and her animal familiar, the human-faced rat, Brown Jenkin, invaded the minds of men who rented that room, plagueing them with nightmares and driving them mad. Eventually, they force the men to sacrifice babies to the devil. One of these men was Masurewicz who I sacrificed a baby to the devil under her influence. In later years, he would cover the wall of his rooms with crucifixes, in an attempt to protect his soul. Her latest victim was Walter Gilman, a university student who rent the room. She entered his dreams as a naked Frances Elwood, a woman on whom Gilman has a crush on. As Frances she seduced him, and lured him into having sex with her. She carved a pentagram in his back before revealing what she really looks like, resulting in a rough awakening for Gilman. In their next encounter, she had Brown Jenkin bite Gilman's wrist and tried to force his name in a book with blood, before sending him to a university, where he discovers her true goal in the Necronomicon. Going completely crazy, Gilman tried to warn Frances about the witch but after she threw him out, he went after the witch. As he got close, she revealed that she had Frances' baby, Danny and that she was going to force him to kill the child. She failed however as he rejected her and strangled the witch before returning to his room with Danny. It is unknown if he managed to actually kill her however, as her familiar would later go and kill both Danny and Gilman.

In his dreams, Gillman is forced to aid in Mason and Jenkin's kidnapping of an infant at behest of "The Black Man" (an avatar of Nyarlathotep), which he concludes is real when he wakes the next morning with mud on his feet and a newspaper recounting the kidnapping. On Walpurgis Night, Gillman manages to stop Mason from killing the infant in sacrifice. Unfortunately, Brown Jenkin kills the infant anyway and Gillman is deafened by a "cosmic sound". The next morning, Gillman is found dead in his room with a hole burrowed through his chest.
