  • Wyoming class
rdfs:comment
  • This class of two ships is the fourth type of dreadnought battleship to enter service in the United States Navy. At the time of their design, none of their predecessors had entered active service yet, and so they retained most specifications of the preceding Delaware and Florida classes - a relatively low top speed, a strong armour protection and a long endurance. However, they received a sixth heavy turret, bringing their main battery up to 12 heavy guns. Both ships entered service in 1912.
