| abstract | - This technique is unique to Ryū due to it originating from his Eye of Ares and requiring no hand seals. Ryū creates a small object that resembles a scale and reflects like a mirror. The mirror itself is no bigger than a man's index finger and floats in the air directly in front of Ryū. The mirror serves the purpose of taking an attack and turning it back upon the opponent at the same strength. Any attack, with the exception of physical attacks such as strikes or projectiles, that connects with the mirror is absorbed before being reversed and sent back at the opponent with equal strength. The mirror has the potential to return any attack upon the opponent but with attacks that hold immense power, such as Kirin or Amaterasu, the attack will be reflected but Ryū will take extensive damage to his eye resulting in temporary blindness of his left eye and intense pain which would last for days. In the case of purely physical attacks the mirror will absorb the force generated by the blow and immediately shatter, leaving Ryū vulnerable for the next three minutes without the use of his Eye of Ares. In the case of attacks which are both physical and chakra based, such as Chidori, the mirror will absorb the impact of the blow and return the chakra based damage to the opponent in the form of a condensed blast equal in strength to the original attack. When the mirror is in use it requires that Ryū be absolutely stationary for the duration of its use and when the mirror is shattered or no longer in use Ryū will be unable to use his Eye of Ares for double the amount of time the mirror was in use and will be submitted to a pain that intensifies the longer that the mirror was in use.
