Sixty out of the 100 vehicles currently in Howth are on display, and others can be inspected by prior arrangement. The oldest items date from 1883, the newest 1984. The collection features lorries, trucks, fire engines, trams and tractors. Also exhibited is the restored Hill of Howth No.9 Tram. The museum is run on a voluntary basis, and is funded by a minimal entry fee, unlike The National Museum, National Gallery and National History museums, who are funded by government.
