  • How many miles does the earth travel in one year
rdfs:comment
  • 584,000,000 the average distance to the sun is typically given as 93 million miles, and its orbit around the sun is given as an elipse so what could we do? because it's an AVERAGE distance we might assume a circle and calculate miles of circumference radius 93*10^6 miles times 2 times pi(3.141592) would give the circumference in miles as 5.84336*10^8 miles so that's 584 * 10^6 or 584 million miles or WOW , just like above.... GooseBay Camper said that...! enjoy !!!

(60seconds per minute)*(60minutes per hour)*(24hours per day)*(365.25days per year) gives 3.1557*10^7 seconds per year (584*10^8miles circumference)/(3.1557*10^7 seconds per year) gives 18.5 miles per second.... WOW the earth is moving thru space at 18.5 miles per second due to it's orbit around the sun.!!!! This has gotta be fun !!! GooseBay Camper said that...! enjoy !!!
