| abstract | - Last View was the traditional final gathering of graduates at the Royal Manticoran Naval Academy on Saganami Island before they were sent on their respective midshipman cruises. Traditionally, the Commandant of the Academy would speak to the midshipmen and midshipwomen on this occasion, but there were cases of guest speakers taking over that duty, including legendary Naval officers like Ellen D'Orville, Quentin Saint-James and Honor Harrington. After the speech, an uncut recording of Edward Saganami's final message to Queen Adrienne, his battle against pirates who attacked a convoy he protected, and the final incomplete message sent from HMS Nike seconds before her demise, were shown on holoscreen, reminding the graduates what sacrifice they might have to make for their star nation one day.
