- Crabs were exo-skeletal sea-dwelling crustaceans. They were commonly eaten seafood in Rokugan. This was, of course, a relative term as all seafood could only be enjoyed fresh by those who lived close to the sea.
- Possibly a reference to a gang called The Crabs, which was occasionally mentioned in Lifter Puller lyrics. Particularly in the song "Math is Money". This could also be a reference to crab louse.
- Crabs are small, red critters that eat detritus, and thus can keep water clean. They originated on Albia in the Creatures 2 game, but have been brought to the Capillata/Ark with AquaShee's C2 Crabs for C3/DS.
- Crabs are animals from Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island. They come in two diffrrent colours; red and green. The Crabs live in Fire Island. Red Crab's behavior is like Scritters, except it can go into Water and make the water act like floor. If a Bridge is activated in the water tile that the Red Crab is in then the Red Crab will rise with the bridge and act as it does normally again. When the player goes on the same tile as a Green Crab's, the Green Crab will pop out of its shell, and will for then on attempt to follow the player. Green Crabs are also smaller than Red Crabs and cannot go into water.

One, voiced by Rove McManus, tries to catch Nemo, but fails. The crabs constantly yell "Hey!" at any fish that swim past them. Later, Nemo and Dory return, asking the crabs if they've seen Marlin. The yellow crab admits that he did, but refuses to give out any information -- until Dory holds him above water, as a tempting morsel for the seagulls. During the credits, one of the crabs can be seen dangling from one of the filmmakers' names.
