It was named for the infamous Crimson Corridor relatively nearby, and had as its logo a seductive-looking Kuati noblewoman wearing only a crimson shawl strategically wrapped around her body. The Crimson Countess had a reputation as a den of lowlifes, seasoned drinkers, and spacers down on their luck. It was dimly lit, although individual tables or the main bar could be lit for performances by dancers. A few back rooms could be rented out for prostitution. However, it also ran a few more lucrative enterprises under cover of the dregs. The information broker Wonga Vurb often screened potential clients through the Crimson Countess, sometimes meeting them directly and others sitting at a bar or in a booth while his agents conversed with interested buyers within earshot.
