While it's a good idea to create some soldiers to protect the town from attacks, and it can be wise to attack their base to slow them down, the player doesn't need to defeat the enemy to win. They just need to gather the food and find the ruin, in whatever order. If the player finds the ruin first, they should keep a few soldiers near it, to stop the enemy from taking it back.

  • Farming is a feature all Game modes possess which involves planting seeds, growing and harvesting crops. It can also refer to the act of Taming and/or Breeding animals.
  • Farming was the occupation of many humans and was the practice of growing plants (called crops) and possibly tending to animals. The rich soil in northern Alagaësia made it ideal for farming, but farming was a prominent industry in all human lands. Eragon found it pleasurable to nurture plants and to grow them from seeds. He was taught how to farm by Garrow. Farming was Roran's intended occupation and he has stated that he intends to return to it upon the defeat of the Broddring Empire.
  • The act of Farming is to repeatedly defeat a certain opponent for items, experience, or any other game-specific term. In The World Ends With You, to farm is to collect a lot of one particular pin at once. This is a walkthrough of what is considered the best farming spots in the game. Having Ultimate Mode unlocked is required for some drops; having 16 chain available will help speed up the process. Certain pins can help with increasing the drop rate; eating certain food choices can also grant this effect. __TOC__
  • Farming is a practice well known in online games, and often frowned upon. Usually, creatures that spawn in the same place on a regular basis and drop valuable loot are the favorite targets of player farming. A player group will camp at the spawn point, attack, kill, and loot the creature over and over (or at least as often as it spawns). This practice is sometimes frowned upon because very often the loot that is dropped is desired by a great many players, and it is felt that farmers are somehow hoarding or stealing the loot drop. Also, creatures are the targets of many missions and quests, and if a group is farming or camping a creature, no other group has acess to it (practically speaking) and thus misisons cannot be completed.

  • Farming is the practice of repeatedly performing an action in order to receive drops -- gold, reagents, equipment, etc. Players will farm areas for reagents (sections of Regent's Square tend to have scrap iron and mist wood, for example); bosses for specific pieces of equipment (e.g., Malistaire's Dragonfire Cloak); or bosses and other NPCs for sell-able equipment.

  • Farming initially meant to do nothing but killing a certain type of monster for the express purpose of getting them to drop certain items. It is distinct from grinding experience, as monsters will continue to drop items regardless of the player's level. The term is also extended to include searching for ore and herbs, which does not have to involve killing mobs. It is common for tailors to kill lots of cloth-dropping humanoids to get cloth or for leatherworkers to farm beasts for leather. Players may also repeatedly kill certain elite mobs in instances known to drop good items.
  • Farming (often confused with agriculture by city folk) was originally developed as a tool for justifying foxhunting, an important and exciting sport which rapidly lost popularity throughout the eighteenth century, due to its relative lack of violence. Nowadays farming is just a way of torturing young boys by forcing them to work long hours for no pay, only to die in a combine. However, this great abundance of bread caused the spontaneous generation of bread golems. This led to the Great Farming War, discussed on page 148-231 of your Communist issue history textbook.
  • Farming is the term for attacking another player in order to take his credits. When a player does so, he uses his attack units to take the other players currency by force. If the attack is more powerful than the defense, the attacking player gets a certain amount of the defending players currency transferred onto his account where he can spend them as he likes, but if the defense is stronger than the attack the attackers force is repelled and he gets nothing. But, to attack other players you need Action Turns (a.k.a. AT). You choose how many AT you want to use to attack the other player. You can use from 1-100 AT to farm and of course the amount of currency you get is based on how many AT you spend to attack (if you use 100 AT you get 60%-90% of the other players currency). Also, when you

  • Farming is the killing of monsters for the purpose of gathering , experience, gold, faction, or promotion points and is considered to be one of the quickest and easiest ways to amass wealth. Often you will find parties (especially in the harder areas of the game) searching for people to go farming with them. Farming groups utilize strategies and techniques optimized for farming effectiveness. These strategies revolve around two seemingly contradicting principles:
  • Farming er en Member's-only skill som ble sluppet løs 11. juni 2005. Den går ut på å plante alt fra poteter til Spirit Trees. Farming passer veldig godt sammen med Herblore siden man kan plante Herbs og noen 2nd ingredients.

Player grown woodcutting trees have the added benefit of being only accessible to the player who grew them, which means that players will not need to compete to gather their own tree's wood.
  • After being planted crops will grow in real time: it is not necessary to be logged in or to remain at Farming patches for crops to grow, so players may carry out other in-game activities after planting their crops. If a player with a Farming level of less than 15 stands idly by a Farming patch for an extended period of time they will be reminded by the Farming patch spirit that they can leave their crops unattended. After a period of time, if they have not become diseased and died during the course of their growth, crops will become fully grown. Players can check the health of the crops to gain Farming experience and/or harvest from them to obtain produce.
  • Farming is a term commonly used to refer to killing for items that they drop, particularly valuable ones as a way of making gil. A few such items are sold to NPCs or used in Quests, but most are sold to other players via the Auction House. Farming usually involves killing monsters that are Too Weak, since they can be killed more quickly and with less risk, but Easy Prey are sometimes targeted because they can drop crystals, Beastmen's Seals, and at higher levels Kindred's Seals in addition to their normal drops. Players farming Easy Prey generally receive Signet, Sanction, or Sigil so that crystals can drop. Both Sigil and Sanction can provide additional bonuses that help reduce downtime.
  • Farming is when you attack an inactive, semi inactive or even just plain weak player, normally very close to you, with a weak army, just for the resources. The advantage of this are obvious; if the player is weak, they won't be able to defend themselves. Still, if you play your cards right, you can make a nice profit off of farming. Just don't forget about luck... ;)

Players farming Easy Prey generally receive Signet, Sanction, or Sigil so that crystals can drop. Both Sigil and Sanction can provide additional bonuses that help reduce downtime. Many players use Thief as their main or sub job while farming for its Treasure Hunter ability; Ninja is also popular for its ability to avoid damage with Utsusemi, and White Mage or Dancer for jobs that can't normally heal themselves, to reduce downtime. Adventuring Fellows are sometimes used to speed up killing or reduce downtime, especially at higher levels. If the monsters being farmed are hard to find, Wide Scan may be useful. Red Mages can be used too for farming at higher levels. They have additional effects for their weapons and guarding spells to defend themselves. Refresh in combination with Convert gives them almost no downtime at all. So the ability to pack a punch, to heal themselves for MP and HP, and to defend themselves makes them ideal main jobs for farming.

A fun American past time, people used to farm for fun every day! But with the creation of TV, the fun is has disappeared from these fun, fun places. Before these terrible days, there was bread aplenty and lots of vegetables. However, this great abundance of bread caused the spontaneous generation of bread golems. This led to the Great Farming War, discussed on page 148-231 of your Communist issue history textbook.
Many quests involve farming, for example, killing kobolds in order to get their candles (Quest:Kobold_Candles). Building reputation with certain factions also usually involves farming certain mobs. Timbermaw Hold, Argent Dawn, and Cenarion Circle are good examples.
Also, when you attack, your and the defenders units lose health that can be restored in the military menu.
These strategies revolve around two seemingly contradicting principles: * Reducing the number of party members: Smaller party size equals an increased chance for each member to get quality items. It similarly means fewer people to split the gold with. (Note this has been changed significantly since the April 19th Update. See below.) * Increasing the number of party members: Increased DPS, expedites the deaths of enemies killed within a given time frame. As such, dedicated farming groups experiment with builds in high-experience zones. Repeatedly dying or retreating is unfavorable for farming. Seek an effective party structure that clears out an area quickly and has less than a full party size. With the introduction of the hard mode, Money making from farming was decreased in parties with less than the maximum party size, as loot is now scaled according to the amount of players in a party. When farming solo or having party members, you get fewer items than you normally would; the amount being comparable to that of full group farming. Shortly after the release of the hard mode, loot scaling has been slightly adjusted by causing tomes, scrolls, dye, rare materials, Domain of Anguish gemstones, gold level rarity items, unique items, and Special Event items to be excluded from the new system.
  • Farming in the original sense of the word means to do nothing but killing a certain type of monster for the express purpose of getting them to drop certain items. "I farmed the murlocs on the coast for Slimy Murloc Scales for an hour last night." It is common for tailors to kill lots of cloth-dropping humanoids to get cloth or for leatherworkers to farm beasts for leather. Players may also repeatedly kill certain elite mobs in instances known to drop good items. Many quests involve farming, for example, killing kobolds in order to get their candles. Building reputation with certain factions also usually involves farming certain mobs. Timbermaw Hold, Argent Dawn, and Cenarion Circle are good examples. A secondary meaning of the term is "collecting any crafting material" (e.g. herbs or ore). Although this activity does not necessarily involve fighting mobs, many players feel that it's similarly repetitive and uneventful as farming mobs. Some players use the expression "farming the auction house" jokingly, meaning one of two things — either they buy needed items (instead of really farming them) or they earn gold in the AH (by buying low and selling high).

  • This article is about how to plant fruits and veggies on your HKO-farm. It's not about "gold-farming", "item-farming", "mob-farming" or anything like that. Each user of Hello Kitty Online is given their own land, or "farm", after having completed most of the quests in Sanrio Harbour and upon entering Florapolis. • Farming is a collection skill which allows you to harvest materials required to cook . You will need to level Farming Finesse to obtain higher materials.
  • Also, within the Farming Store lies some seeds used in Allotments and Flower Patches.
  • Farming is when you attack an inactive, semi inactive or even just plain weak player, normally very close to you, with a weak army, just for the resources. The advantage of this are obvious; if the player is weak, they won't be able to defend themselves. The disadvantage, however, is that they don't have many points, so they don't have many resources to plunder (the reward should still be more than the cost of the units you use to attack, however). Another is that because they have less points, they will have a huge morale advantage, so even a tiny defense or wall will deal severe damage to your units. Yet another disadvantage is that other players will notice the player is inactive and farm them before you get there. It is most definitely advised that you send a scout out to someone you want to farm, just remember this: defending scouts cannot be killed easily, only attacking scouts will deal considerable damage while the others deal only little damage to them, so if you sent a scout party and it was destroyed by the defense scouts, they'll still be there when you come back later. Still, if you play your cards right, you can make a nice profit off of farming. Just don't forget about luck... ;)
  • Farming works best on tilled soil that is placed next to water, and is fertilized with saltpeter. This is called cultivated soil. For any plant to grow, the temperature must be warm enough but not too hot and the humidity must be high enough. Rye, cotton and pumpkins grow best in moist, warm, cultivated soil.
