Golasgil fought for his life in the Second Battle of Osgiliath, and was able to survive after so many Orcs took over the ruined city. Rather than returning to Minas Tirith, Golasgil returned to Anfalas and led a long line of 2800 non-combatants (hunters, herdsmen, and villagers) that were scantily equipped save for his own household. Golasgil and his small army marched to Minas Tirith before the armies of Mordor prepared to lay siege, and participated in the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Golasgil managed to survive the battle. He returned to Anfalas and ruled his land again.
