* Midwife Kerry Harper in September 2006. Attending Buttershaw Upper School she discovered the love of theatre and went on to Leeds Polytechnic and Ilkley College. Intent on studying for a teaching degree, she followed her heart and transferred from the course to do a BA degree in Performing Arts. Moving to London in 1984, she worked with a theatre company called The Black Theatre Co-op for six months as a stage manager and gained her Equity Card after six months. Other acting credits include roles in Playbus, Where the Heart Is, Emmerdale, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Courtroom, Casualty, Doctors, EastEnders, The Lair and Boy Meets Girl, whilst she has written several multicultural books for children, scripts for Playbus, The Tweenies, EastEnders and Doctors, comedy-writing for The Real McCoy, Get Up Stand Up and Brothers and Sisters as well as penning three dramas for BBC Radio 4.
