  • Before the Great War, Cascadia was a less used term for the bioregion of the Pacific Northwest stretching from British Columbia in Canada to Oregon in the United States of America. A green, wet, and overcast place, Cascadia has recovered from nuclear armageddon rather well, at least ecologically. The region's natural wealth has attracted the attention of outside forces and aided in the growth of local tribes and civilizations. This has led to some wars but overall, Cascadia has been spared the blight of large scale conflict in wake of the Great War. Nonetheless, with the expansion of the New California Republic, increased intrusions from Badlander packs, and old local grudges, conflict continues in the region.

  • Welcome to Cascadia! This wiki is intended to provide comprehensive coverage of the Cascadian bioregion and its culture, geography, history, politics, economy, and demographics, and to be a resource to support Cascadian independence. Cascadia refers to the bioregion and proposed independent country in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. According to the most extensive definition, Cascadia consists of most of the existing sub-national states/provinces of Washington, British Columbia, Vancouver Island, Oregon, and Idaho, as well as significant parts of the surrounding states of California, Montana, Alaska and small areas of Nevada, Wyoming, and the Yukon Territory. The region is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the North American Continental Divide to the east, and includes the entirety of every watershed draining into the Pacific Ocean from the Copper River in Alaska south to the Russian River in California. Politically, Cascadia consists of portions of the United States and Canada. Canada is a federal state governed by a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy; the United States is a federal constitutional republic. Various groups are working for the peaceful secession of parts of Cascadia from their respective federal governments, with the goal of establishing an independent state with some form of representative government.

The Cascadia Doug flag is a symbol of the natural beauty and inspiration that the Pacific Northwest provides and is a direct representation of the bioregion and nation. Designed in 1994 by Portland native Alexander Baretich, the blue of the flag represents the moisture-rich sky above and the Pacific Ocean, along with the Salish Sea, lakes, and inland waters. Cascadia is a place of continuous cascading waters flowing from the Pacific to the western slopes of the Rockies and Cascades where water cycles back to the Pacific. On a cold November night, thousands upon thousands of squirrels from the forests of Cascadia began an uprising against the Governments of the United States and Canada. Eventually, through a string of long, bloody, (and squirrelly) wars, lasting a few minutes, won Independence from the nations. Negotiations with the Squirrels began, and ultimately, they surrendered land from their country for the new nation. The Commonwealth of Cascadia was born, and under the new Squirrelly Government, the nation thrived. For a few hours. Ounce the squirrels realized they couldn't run a government, they abandoned their positions and headed back to the forests where they belong. Fortunately, the people of Cascadia knew how to run a government better than a bunch of squirrels. Ultimately, the new human government established an alliance with the U.S. and Canada. They became great trade partners in cheese exports. Stories of The North Pacific Featured
