rdfs:comment
  • The Short Rope Collective would come about due to Evan "Easy Money" Arnold and Jason Scinini both going after the same bounty. In their competition they would allow the outlaw to escape, and after laughing it off at the saloon that night, decided to become partners. They would then track bounties together, able to do so much easier due to their shared skills. They would save enough Ring Pulls that year to buy their office in Winner, a saloon and hire several other associates and acquaintances.

From here Easy Money would gather bounties, rumors, and any scrap of usable or interesting information and direct the others as needed. They would operate through South-West South Dakota, but would venture afar when needed. After their first two years in business, they had gained regional fame and contracts would pour in. This would also attract other bounty hunters, and the collective soon numbered 17. This success would ultimately lead to its downfall, as a contract came in to take down the Sawhill Clan, a nomadic raider band. 2218 would be spent in preparation, with the Collective stockpiling weapons, food, ammo and explosives, taking work only when needed to pay for overhead. They would begin their work in early 2119, attacking the Sawhill camp before Spring had arrived, killing a dozen and scattering three times that. They would continue to harass and bomb the raiders, until Easy Money was bought off. He would lead the Collective into an ambush and shoot several himself before he approached the raider chief for his payment. He would be received by two shotgun blasts to the back and stripped of anything valuable, leaving The Short Rope Collective as another footnote in the history of the Badlands. The Sawhills would then get further revenge when they burnt down the Collective's headquarters.
