However, this view is not universally accepted, as other Theurge hold the view that 'evolution' of Pattern Spiders runs counter to the very nature of the Weaver. None disagree that the spirits are exceptionally numerous, and appear quite similar to other Weaver spirits.

In Exalted, Pattern Spiders are the least members of the Bureau of Destiny and are charged with maintaining the Tapestry and the Loom of Fate. Sidereal Exalted often make deals with them in order to alter Fate to their advantage (or seeming advantage) in small ways.
