This is the original release, which includes X-Men characters and the Silver Surfer. Due to film/character ownership license rights, all X-Men characters plus the Silver Surfer were removed and replaced by other Marvel characters. Exactly the same card set as version 2 apart from the Silver Surfer appearing amongst the group on the title card (ironic, as the character's card is not in this set). Some versions also have misprint errors, such as the letter N missing from the Spider-Woman card and misaligned artwork.
