  • Renette (Pronounciation: 'Rii-net') was a feared Pirate Lord in the caribbean, who brought the entire 16th Century planet Earth to its knees in the search of her ex-husband Mappalazarou and his ship, The GateWorld Cantina. She commanded the forces of various pirate cults, the undead, the spirits of long lost pioneers, the souls of a distant underworld and many fearsome sea monsters, such as the Kraken and Gravemind, who carried out her every order. It is still unclear to the crew of the Cantina how Renette came to be in this position of power, but some presume that somehow Mapp is responsible.

Neither she or the captain ever completely reveal their previous relationship or how it came to an end, but speculation and theories suggest that Mapp was the one who ended it, which would certainly explain Renette's constant need for revenge. She showed no mercy when she captured her ex-husband and brutally murdered him after finding out that his ship had already been destroyed at the hands of the Kraken, which suggests that their 'marriage' was built on one of them using the other for thier own malevolent purposes. Either Renette was using Mapp so that she could take over the Cantina, or Mapp was using her for some mysterious purpose - it has never been explained, and since Renette is now completely sealed away in the same black chest where she once stored the captain's heart, the story probably never will be.
