  • Politicians don't usually hold fundraisers immediately after an election. It's generally considered poor form to solicit money from people you've just solicited for campaign purposes. Democrat U.S. Rep.-elect Jason Altmire is flouting this unwritten rule. Altmire, who toppled U.S. Rep. Melissa Hart of Bradford Woods last month, has a $250-per-person fundraiser scheduled for Dec. 14, 2006. The event will be held at the spectacular Mt. Washington residence of Peter Karlovich and Steve Herforth, who must really like Altmire. They don't even live in his congressional district.
