The band rose to fame with their debut album Wisconsin Death Trip, which went platinum in 2001. Their sound incorporates elements of nu-metal, industrial metal, and groove metal. Static-X self describes the genre of music as "Evil Disco". Static-X has released six studio albums, one compilation album, one EP, 12 singles, 12 videos and a guitar tab book titled Static-X Guitar Antholog
