And that's just the first 'chapter'. The series goes on to build up a bigger group of people called the "Guardians". A group of time travelers who know the future and are using their knowledge to gain places of power and remain one step ahead of Bernard Harving. Bernard Harving is the series Big Bad that can control the five senses of those around him and has used it to kill others. The first book deals with things like broken families, tragic backstories, estrangement, reconciliation, trust, power struggles, leadership, obsoletion, manipulation, and the consequences of one's actions It's better than it sounds.
