  • Hägar the Horrible is the title character of the comic strip created by Dik Browne in 1973. Appearing in over 1,900 newspapers in 58 countries, it follows the adventures of the Viking Hägar, his familiy, and his crew. The strip has remained popular since its debut, and has inspired its own brand of soda ("Hägar the Horrible Cola") and animated special. The strip was referenced in the Muppet Babies episode Comic Capers. The Babies are making up a story from cut out panels from the Sunday comics, wandering through Blondie, Crock, Alley Oop and Peanuts (among others).
