  • Neuro-intoxication
rdfs:comment
  • Neuro-intoxication was a systemic medical disorder caused by multiple chemical exposures and overloads. Symptoms varied, but the end-result was generally an overall reduction in mental and emotion stability, where higher brain functions ceased and a person entered a vaguely trance-like state. In this state, a neuro-intoxication person was more suggestible and could not always recall events later. A possible example of this is when Captain Archer and Lieutenant Reed of the Enterprise (NX-01) visited Harrad-Sar's barge in ENT episode: "Bound".

A guest at a lavish Orion banquet could suffer neuro-intoxication from the strong alcohol, exotic foods and spices, the smokes and aromas present. A key part of this chemical mix were the pheromones of the Orion slave girls. Orion leaders and businessmen took advantage of a neuro-intoxicated guest to make deals and alliances. (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge) A possible example of this is when Captain Archer and Lieutenant Reed of the Enterprise (NX-01) visited Harrad-Sar's barge in ENT episode: "Bound".
