abstract
  • Established in 2005, San Diego-based CommerceTel provides a proprietary interactive voice and [Short Messaging Service] (text) platform that facilitates mobile marketing campaigns. To date, the platform has been used successfully in a number of marketing campaigns. The combination of both SMS and Voice Messaging creates a robust platform capable of predictive dialing, call center automation, interactive voice marketing, and providing additional accessibility to mobile content. The foundation of the Platform known as CallFor ™ was developed at the request of national brand marketers who were dissatisfied with the results of stand-alone SMS marketing campaigns. The combination of both text and voice has allowed marketers to provide immediate information to communities of end users in a manner that they select. Mobile content owners and advertising agencies have used the C4 platform over the past two years to deliver interactive campaigns. CommerceTel has teamed up with NBC to combine IVR technology with interactive television. During the January 22, 2007 episode of the NBC television show “Heroes,” a vanity phone number briefly appeared on screen. By calling the number, viewers were able to learn a secret about one of the show’s key characters. This number, 1-800-PRIMA16, received over 50,000 calls. In the fall of 2007, CommerceTel began to facilitate [National Public Radio’s (NPR) Mobile Voice] programs. The C4 platform allows NPR to regularly update stories so listeners can get NPR’s up-to-date local and national news on their phones as well as pledge during NPR fund-raising drives.
