They play a game called Lant Land. On a screen they watch people live their lives. Tegan and Turlough explore while Simon and Joanne talk with the Doctor. Simon explains that the Lants were such perfect simulations that people downloaded themselves into the Lants to play the game. Meanwhile, Tegan and Turlough explore, and they think they have figured it out. They think they are in the simulation. They go to tell the Doctor, but he tells them they have it backwards, that the simulants downloaded themselves into the real people, and that this is the real world but Simon and Joanne are simulants.
