  • George Mollett Murphy (9 September 1823 - 22 July 1887) was a Congregational minister. Born in Chelsea, he was initially a minister in Birmingham before coming to London in 1856. In 1866 he was appointed pastor of Borough Road Congregational Church. He was a member of the London School Board, elected to represent Lambeth in 1873 and re-elected four times, remaining a member at the time of his death. He died suddenly at his home in Walworth aged 63. He was buried at Abney Park Cemetery. A monument to his memory was erected by public subscription in March 1889.
