| abstract | - Tommy Herbert is a former NASCAR driver from Delray Beach, FL. He competed in three Nextel Cup Series events in his career. Herbert debuted in 1956, when he competed at Daytona Beach Road Course. Starting 62nd in the field of seventy-six, Herbert struggled quite a bit in the race and ended up with a mediocre 49th place finish. Herbert's other two races would have to wait until 1960, again competing at Daytona, but this time at the Speedway. Starting 36th in the Daytona 500 Qualifier race, Herbert completed all but three laps, brought home a career-best 24th place finish and transferred into the Daytona 500. There, however, he wasn't as lucky, crashing to a 45th place finish.
