Hoshi mainly has positive matchups against characters like Ganondorf and Bowser, as he can out speed them and throw projectiles they are vulnerable against. He mainly suffers against characters like Meta Knight and Fox, who can combo him. Overall, however, he is a solid character with good metagame. He is also considered broken on Fourside as he can run up the stage's walls, making him difficult to KO.
