Using Protect from Melee helps a lot to decrease the amount of damage taken. Although they hit high, their defense is extremely low. An estimated level 50 with 40 Attack and 40 Strength can hit the Inquisitor Captain at his lowest damage possible, but obviously the player would be killed in just two or three precise hits.
