- Kurt Busiek, born 16th September 1960, is an American Comic Book writer.
- Kurt Busiek is the author of a series of articles that were included in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles comic series in 1992 - 1993. Each four page article examined a person or theme from the story of the issue, similar to the Companion Historical Documentaries that later accompanied the films of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. Busiek was also the writer for the short comic Mid-Atlantic, April 1916, which appeared in the The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles magazine.

| <span style | - "color: ForestGreen">Marvels]] miniseries followed by Homage Comics Kurt Busiek's Astro City. As a fan, he created the theory that Jean Grey had never died and became the Phoenix, which was later integrated into the comics.
In 1997, Busiek began a celebrated stint as writer of Avengers alongside artist George Perez. Perez departed from the series in 2000, but Busiek continued as writer for two more years, collaborating with artists Alan Davis, Kieron Dwyer and others. Busiek's tenure culminated with the Kang Dynasty storyline. In 2003, Busiek re-teamed with Perez to create the JLA/Avengers limited series.
In 2003, Kurt began a new Conan'' series for Dark Horse Comics but has since moved on. In December 2005 Busiek signed a two-year exclusive contract with [[dcdatabase:DC Comics

- "color: darkorange">Infinite Crisis]] event, Kurt teamed with Geoff Johns on a One Year Later 8-part story arc that encompassed both Superman titles. As well, he began writing the DC title Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis and wrote from issues 40-49. Kurt is currently the writer of Superman.
Work on some of Kurt's more challenging, less mainstream projects, most notably Astro City, has been repeatedly delayed by a series of health problems. Kurt's work has won him several awards in the comics industry, including the 1998 and 1999 Comics Buyer's Guide'' Awards for Favorite Writer, with additional nominations in 1997 and every year from 2000 to 2004. He has also received numerous Squiddy Awards, having been selected as favorite writer four years in a row from 1995 to 1998, and as a member of the favorite creative team for 1996, 1999, and 2003. In the Squiddy Awards, he was also named the favorite poster to the rec.arts.comics.* newsgroups five years in a row from 2000 through 2004. He is rumoured to be the writer of DC's next "crisis" with the ominous name "Final Crisis"
