William's Vanilluxe was keeping an eye outside in the hail, activating its ability, Ice Body. Munchlax was shivering and holding onto Brock. Ambipom scooped up some snow and threw some at Lopunny and Delphox. Kandalee was busy bundling Hunter up. She tied a scarf around his neck, which ended up coming to his mouth. He tried putting his arms down, but his coat wouldn't let him. Jacob snickered. Kandalee shot him a murderous look. William shot an angry look at Jacob as well. "One more wrong step and I'll rip you limb from limb," Kandalee said through her teeth. She went back to helping Hunter with his coat. "Don't make me get Leavanny to use X-Scissor on you" William scowled at Jacob. "Jeez, calm down, little brother, don't slice me open," Jacob replied. He stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Hmm" William seemed a little suspicious. Lillie was talking to Nodoka and Makie. "Do you think William's being the straight man to you?" She whispered to them. "Yeah," Makie replied. "It is possible, I heard Professor Negi say something about William being the protective one like Negi" Nodoka said to her. "You don't think......?" Nodoka continued shyly. "Maybe," Makie replied. Kandalee finally finished bundling up Hunter, and she went to go make lunch. Serena and Bonnie heard Lillie's conversation and both of them join in, Bonnie spoke first. "I heard your conversation." "Huh?" "I heard what you said. About William being the protective one and everything." Later that night, Kandalee and Jacob were outside arguing. "Jacob, I'm just trying to be to Hunter what Mom was to all of us!" "You needn't be so sickening about it!" "I know you haven't gotten over Mom, but that doesn't mean you have to be a shut-in!" Jacob glared at Kandalee before running off. "Jacob, wait!" Jacob had already disappeared. Frozen tears spilled from Kandalee's eyes. "I was just trying to help..." She stuffed her hands into her pockets and studied her boots as tears fell onto the snow. "Kandalee......?" "Huh? Hey, Makie." "What's going on? Why is Jacob so mad?" "He doesn't necessarily like Hunter." "Why not?" "He thinks Hunter's the reason Mom passed away." "So he's mad at Hunter?" "Mm-hmm. Jacob never fully got over Mom's death. The minute he found out what happened, he shut himself in his room and rarely ever came out." One of Makie's PokeBall summoned out on its own, startling Makie. Lopunny emerged, smiling. "Lopunny, what are doing getting out of your Love Ball all by yourself?" Makie asked to her Pokemon. "Lopunny punny lo lopunny." (I thought Kandalee might need cheering up.) Lopunny approached Kandalee, and tapped the sad-looking Kandalee who was cuddled up on a log by her shoulder. "Thanks," Kandalee said. She smiled. "Hey, Makie? Mind telling William to watch Hunter for me? I'm gonna go see if Jacob will listen to reason." Makie nodded in response. "Thanks!" Kandalee ran off.
