Stringham ends up severely drunk at the annual reunion party held for Le Bas (at the end of The Acceptance World); Jenkins and Kenneth Widmerpool take him home, where he ends up in a comical wrestling match with Widmerpool that causes Nick and eventually Charles to burst out laughing.
