  • "Momma..." Lynterria was sitting at her mother's bedside. Despite having healed her, her method of healing didn't mix well with hair, and there was still a bit of swelling on the woman's head. Miyuki was downstairs, getting a ice pack for Ms. Hatake's head. Miyuki was at an utter loss for words; perhaps if she didn't show up there, this never would've happened. She felt as if this was her entire fault. "Dammit, if you never took me in, this never would've happened." Ah, well. It's not like someone could tell her NOT to get injured. Slowly, she turned to the door, preparing to leave so that Ms. Hatake and Lynterria would be harmed because of her again. "Stay..." Lynterria murmured. "I want you to stay with me, Miyuki..." She sounded much like she was pleading. The only thing stopping her from reaching out to grab Miyuki was the fact that she was applying the ice pack to her mother's head. Miyuki halted her movement, sighing, "...Tch, whatever then." Really now, even risking a repeat of what just happened was foolish itself. Lynterria smiled, leveling the ice pack on her mother's head before hugging Miyuki. "I don't want you to go..." She said. "I want you to stay here. So don't ever go." "...I ain't promising anythin'." Which was something she meant in purely literal context. Miyuki Kazamatsuri was never a fan of physical contact. Though she was sure, she wouldn't leave. "Muffin button." Lynterria gestured to the switch sitting on the dresser. "Now with poison muffins." Miyuki shrunk back. "Yeah, no." She'd just incinerate anything which could have the possibility of harming her. Lynterria managed to get Miyuki to sit with her while she tended to her mother's sore head. Lynterria, despite being childish, was an effective nurse, and she was active. Despite having Miyuki get the ice pack the first time, Lynterria had gotten up all subsequent times for that and more, leaving Miyuki to care for Ms. Hatake. "Now this is rather cute~" A taunting, almost drawling, sweet voice broke the silence. "Two young girls, lesbians no doubt, looking after this poor fallen woman~ Whatever got you into this~?" From the floor, a dark shape rose, condensing into a pink-hair young woman. Miyuki's eyes widened as her glare focused upon the woman in front of her. "...Wait, what?" Her blade was at the ready. "...Who the hell are you?" Her body tensed; she was prepared for one hell of a fight. "I'm Nika~" She replied, smiling in a very off way that would have put off even the most stoic of individuals. "Wroooooooong~" A shrill voice resounded, as a beautiful woman with long, blonde hair leapt through the window. Her bangs framed her face, trailing down to her chest in a behind layer of hair. Several clumps of hair were in the middle of her forehead, and the rest of her hair was tied into a long ponytail which draped down to her ankles in a dark vermillion ribbon. She had fine features, azure eyes and large breasts. Now, this was confusing. Miyuki was at an utter loss for words. "Oh, it seems I'm not Nika~" The woman chuckled, putting on a mock pouting face. "Why'd you have to ruin the fun, Nika~? I was gonna ruffle her a little bit~" "Why ruffle~ You see, I have Adonis DNA and tiger blood. Therefore, I am WINNING~" Wait, what? Damn Charlie Sheen references. "But in all seriousness, if you wanna piss somebody off, you better do a thorough job of it~" "Aaaaaaanywho~" The woman brushed Nika off, turning back to Miyuki. Before she would speak, Lynterria walked in. "Oh good, I don't need to chatter on twice~" "Miyuki...who are these two?" She sounded nervous, edging around them and quickly leaping away as soon as she was around to get to Miyuki. Miyuki pointed at Nika, scowling, "Don't...don't ask, okay?" The other one, she wasn't sure of, that was for sure. "I am Mu~" The woman replied, the smile still plastered over her face. "And, you could say I've taken a bit of an interest in this area~" Miyuki clicked her tongue in exasperation. Great. Just freaking great. More freaks. It was all goddamn sunshine and rainbows and crap. "...Alright, what the hell is going on!?" She snapped. "Well, Nika and I were just in the neighborhood and thought this area would be a delightful place for a summer home~ What the heck do you think is going on~?" Her tone was still sickly sweet, but also held a bit of mocking now. "You got your pale butt beat from here to Sunday yesterday, am I riiiight~?" "....Tch! Shut up, dammit." Miyuki growled, as she snapped, "Alright, get to the point, dammit. Stop wasting my time." "It's fun to be right~" She said, almost singsong. "Anyway, even though I could easily take care of this myself, I can going to give you two young'uns information that will inevitable lead you into a harrowing battle~ Any questions~?" Miyuki was at an utter loss for words. "No. Just get it over and done with, got that?" She scowled. Why the hell didn't she just tell her straight off the bat? One of nature's mysteries, that was for sure. "Is she always so surly, Nika~?" Mu asked the devil woman, who knew Miyuki better than anyone in the room. "Probably~" Nika replied, keeping that accursed smile plastered upon her face. "Can't really remember, but she was slightly nicer when she had her memories~" ...Huh. These words caused Miyuki to wonder, how much did she lose when she hit her head? "I'd pay to see that~" Mu chuckled inwardly, then continued. "Alright~ The man who completely flattened you (and maybe beat a few more memories out while he was at it~), has managed to procure seed (not that seed, get your mind out of the gutter~)~ It's a dangerous little thing, that, when planted, grows exceedingly fast and feeds off the world's spiritual energy~ It drains the spiritual energies of everyone in the world, and traps it in fruit~ When the fruit is eaten, the person in question gains their spiritual energies and powers~ Naturally, this'd be a pain, even for me~" Miyuki applied her palm to her forehead in exasperation. Seriously, she wanted her- no, their help? It'd be best if she just left. She felt no reason to help her- there were no favours in need of fulfilling, and they'd just met. "...Hell no. Why don't you just go and get someone else. It's not my problem." Quickly, Nika pulled in, yanking on the young woman's ear violently. "D-Dammit..." Nika remarked, "What's the proper answer~?" Miyuki snarled, "A-Alright. I'll help. But don't expect any help other than this. Do you understand?" Mu chuckled darkly. "Saying it's not your problem with come back to bite you in your pale little rear~" She said, smirking. She began to fade. "I suppose that's all I really came for~ Maybe I should go look for a summer home~ Wanna come Nika~?" Nika sighed, responding. "Whatever floats your boat~" Uh-oh. She was having one of her mood swings again. For some reason, her eyes glazed over. Nika faded with Mu, leaving a confused Lynterria and irritated Miyuki behind. "Miyuki...I'm confused..." Her voice sounded like a nervous whine. "What happened...?" Miyuki scratched her head in exhaustion, stuttering, "...Don't look at me like that." She tapped her foot; utterly pissed off at what was about to happen. "...I have no idea, got it?" "Ugh..." There was a bit of stirring from the bed. Ms. Hatake was stirring, finally. "Momma!" Lynterria immediately turned her attention to her mother, the movement causing her long hair to smack Miyuki in the face. "Momma! Are you ok?" "Yes...I-I'm fine.." She chuckled, but then winced. "Ok...not so much...what happened?" "Well, two crazies showed up out of goddamn nowhere, and started spouting bullcrap." Miyuki snarked; her tone apparant. "Alright...what now." It was clear- Miyuki Kazamatsuri was mighty pissed off. "So...I'm happy that you're okay." Her words were directed at Lynterria's mother, surprisingly warm. "Thank you Miyuki..." She smiled, before wincing again. "Were those two..."crazies"...the ones that... put me up like this...?" She asked, trying to rack her sore brain. "I recall...a young man...and a flash of green....Then I'm blank..." She sounded tired still. "...Tch. No, they didn't do it. It was some hippie. A green-haired guy, to be exact. Seemed like..." Her eyes sharpened. "...Bloody hipsters." "Hipsters?" Lynterria looked puzzled, but her mother quickly spoke out. "I see..." She frowned. "I apologize for being taken by surprise...I hadn't expected to be punched upon opening my door..." Her face was returning somewhat. "...Tch. Not your fault. Blame the hipster bastard." Miyuki snarled, as she continued, "I have no interest in whatever I'm supposed to do, but I'mma tear that guy a new asshole because he hurt you, got it?" "Don't be reckless..." Ms. Hatake murmured. "I'd hate to see you get hurt..." "I-I wanna help too!" Lynterria was now wearing her "game face", thought instead of making her look serious, it made her look cute. Miyuki scowled, "Now, listen to me. I'm sure your mother would be mighty pissed at me if I let you get hurt. So, it's no-go unless I'm told otherwise, got it?" "But I wanna help tooooooo....." She started to cry, making wailing noises highly reminiscent of a child throwing a fit. "Miyuki...let her go with you..." Ms. Hatake said, looking at her daughter for a moment. "She isn't weak, despite her intelligence level." Miyuki clicked her tongue in exasperation. "...Sure, then. Whatever you say, ma'am." Her tone was one full of unwillingness, though she allowed it for god knows what reason. "...Now, where to start?" Yes, really. She didn't have a bloody clue. "'To hide a tree, conceal it in a forest.'" Lynterria quoted, having one of her random smart moments. "Since it's a tree, the best place to put it would be in the forest, probably waaaay inside. Let's go look there!" Miyuki sighed. Looks like there was no choice, but to head to the forest. ...Whichever way that was. Applying her palm to her forehead in exasperation, she uttered, "...And which way is that? Seriously, I was never direction-savvy." "Sure!" Lynterria said enthusiastically. "I'll get us there fast!!" "Oh dear..." Ms. Hatake sounded worried. "Miyuki, even if she is leading you, try to watch her. She has a habit of being...distracted by anything from butterflies to creeks to shiny things on the ground." She thought for a moment. "Though...with you to preoccupy her, perhaps that isn't a worry now." "Tch. Whatever." Miyuki frowned. "Just don't screw up." "That's mean..." Lynterria sulked. "Miyuki doesn't believe in me..." Her eyes looked ready to sparkle again. "Bloody vampires!" Miyuki snapped, making an obvious Twilight reference. "H-huh?" Lynterria's newfound confusion took her off her crying. "You'll understand the obscure reference and you'll damn well laugh, got it?" Miyuki scowled. She became particularly irked when people didn't understand the shout outs she gave out, no matter if they made sense or not. Sighing, she responded, "Tch. No matter. Are we there yet?" "We...haven't left." Lynterria replied slowly, gesturing to the room in the house they had not yet budged from. "Brain damage..." Ms. Hatake murmured. "Oi! I can hear that!" Miyuki snapped. Seriously, just because she was cantankerous didn't mean she deserved to be make fun of. Besides, travel worked so different where she was from, for all she remembered. Usually, they'd be there at the speed of thought due to writers being lazy to write another chapter dedicated to travelling. "Road trip!" Lynterria kissed her mother's forehead and pulled Miyuki with her, but instead of going out the door like a sensible person, she leapt out the window, Miyuki in her arms, bridal style, though Lynterria was unaware of that, and they landed, a few stories down, on the ground, feet first. "And we're out of the house" Lynterria said, grinning. "Or was it never there to begin with?" Miyuki applied her palm to her forehead in exasperation. "...This is utterly crazy." Ironically, it was she who was insane; everyone else was completely sane and in-check with reality. After Lynterria put Miyuki down, they took off running, rushing straight into the thick vegetation. "Can we eat the tree when we find it?" Lynterria asked, genuinely curious. "Sure, if you can fit a whole tree in your mouth." Miyuki snarked. "By the looks of you, I doubt it. But, like you could eat like, a branch, or something." "I'll eat it all!" She crowed. The world could feel a collective facepalm of the multiple therapists and doctors who knew they could get rich from patients like Lynterria. Not surprisingly, Miyuki applied her palm to her forehead in exasperation, sighing, "...Yeah, good luck with that, then." This wouldn't end well. At all.
